School Partnerships
Step Into Art programs reach over 300 Boston children each year through partnerships with schools all across the city. We partner with five Boston Public Schools to offer a variety of rich learning experiences for third-grade students featuring art from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, French and American paintings from the MFA, Boston, and the portraiture of Kehinde Wiley. We also have built a unique, longstanding sixth-grade partnership program with Mother Caroline Academy in Dorchester engaging students with portraits from the Harvard Art Museums and emphasizing studio projects inspired by contemporary Black artists. Our sixth-grade program for 2023-2024 features textile artist Gio Swaby and her solo exhibition at the Peabody Essex Museum. All of our programs actively engage children with great works of art from Boston-area museums and provide new opportunities for creativity and self-expression through art-making and writing.
